mitosis Experimental Design
I. Problem/Question
Will temperature affect the cell division rate in plants?
II. Hypothesis
I believe that temperature colder than what the is ideal for the plant well affect the speed of cell growth. If I am right, I will see the cells reproducing slower as measured by height over time.

IV. Experimental GroupControl Group: Two plants in their ideal environment
Experimental Group:
|
V. Experimental Procedure
- Get four identical plants.
- Plant two in idea temperature and two in temperature 10 degrees Celsius colder than ideal for the plant (same amount of water, soil and sunlight)
- Record the height of the plants every day for two months.
VI. Materials List
- Four identical plants
- water, soil and source of light
- freezer
VII. Expected Results
I think my hypothesis is correct. I think the plants in the experimental group will grow slower then the plants in the control group. I think that because molecules move slower in cold weather so the cells will most likely divide slower.
